Marie was born and raised from the Philippines as the oldest in the family with 3 brothers. Her family generation was known for Karate because of her Grandfather’s legacy for bringing the Karate teaching in this country. Her father and uncle were famous Movie Karate actors in the 70’s and her mother was known for being the first Female Black Belter. With this type of family, she grew up in a lot of social gatherings where she learned how to deal with different types of people.
Marie graduated in St. Paul College of Manila Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and worked in a manufacturing company as the person in charge of the payroll system with over 2000 employees.
Marie moved to United States in 1989 and lived in Albuquerque New Mexico where she invested, owned and managed Real Estate properties. She also decided to get into the Medical field industry and extend her education in the field of computer programming.
Marie decided to move to California in 1994 and continued to work in the Healthcare industry as a Financial Analyst and System administrator where she utilized her knowledge and skills both in Medical Field and Computer Programming. She also jump into the Real Estate business and became a licensed Real Estate agent in 2005. She and her former husband started a Real Estate Company at that time and managed over 50 Real Estate agents servicing the Murrieta, Temecula, Menifee, Wildomar, and so many other areas in Riverside County and San Diego,.
Marie wanted to help the struggling businesses within the community and so she started a non-profit organization in 2008 called the Inland Valley Business and Community Foundation. This organization was to provide an avenue to promote businesses and connect them to the community. IVBCF has reached membership from business professionals, business owners, community performers, community leaders and students in many schools. Her skills in the computer programming and her experience working for corporations served her in marketing IVBCF.
In 1995, she became a member of Toastmaster and served as the President of Toast of the Valley Toastmasters Club in Temecula for 2 years in 2006. She also joined Team Referral Network in Murrieta and was voted to be one of the Advisory Board Members for the Temecula Valley Players during that time.
Her wide connections brought her another opportunity to work at San Joaquin Valley College as a part-time Business Instructor teaching Marketing and Computer Applications for a short period of time and now working for Loma Linda Hospital helping them with their Decision Support system.
Marie obviously has gone into so many different areas with no hesitation. Challenging herself to do different types of work was always a great opportunity to take. She was not afraid of doing anything outside her comfort zone because it gives her tremendous wisdom and knowledge where she utilizes it for managing her life personally and professionally. Her leadership skill became an essential quality to function on certain roles that she commits to.
IVBCF is an amazing organization for so many businesses and it brings such a great positive impact to the community. Marie’s vision on IVBCF was merely helping people and implementing the power of people’s collaboration for the good of the community. She believes in creating a fun social gathering of people where the purpose is to also serve the community.
